The Second World Between Worlds
Ahsoka lives! Yup, we all knew it. After months of Filoni dropping hints and drawings, we finally know what’s going on...kind of. Let’s dig a bit deeper.

As most have figure out by now, this all started with the Father, Son, and Daughter back in The Clone Wars. Season 3 episodes 15,16, and 17 are referred to as “The Morris Arc”. In them we meet the first “world between worlds”. Soon after arriving on Mortis, the Daughter says “we are the ones who guard the power. We are the middle, the beginning, and the end”. While speaking with Anakin, the Father states “My children and I can manipulate the Force like no other. Therefore, it was necessary to withdraw from the temporal world and live here, as anchorites...There are some who would like to exploit our power. The Sith are but one.” If you’re wondering what an anchorite is, it’s a religious recluse. Someone who chooses to live alone in order to better worship or so they do not end up as the worshipped.
Through our hero’s time there, we see some strange things. Ahsoka is kidnapped and forcibly turned to the dark side by a bite from the Son, being saved only by the Daughter, who is now the condor that follows Ahsoka. Anakin discovers he can force the Son and Daughter to do as he wishes by forcing them to drop both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. This arch brought up some interesting threads about what Anakin could have been as well, but that’s for another time.

When it’s all said and done, our hero’s emerge unharmed back in the cockpit of their ship. Rex states that he lost them there for a minute. This implies that the Mortis timetable is different than mainstream reality as they were on the planet for several days. This seems to track with what Ahsoka is probably feeling now.
So, who’s time is messed up? Well, really no ones. Ahsoka was fighting Vader and then Ezra pulls her out...months later. In the “world between worlds” time doesn’t exist. No one was jerked from their own time and Ahsoka hasn’t been battling Vader forever on a loop. She was jerked from her path into a timeless area. You could hear Yoda, Obi-Wan, and even Rey speaking lines from the films and shows. We should have known Ahsoka was about to show when Ezra approached the triangle platform. You hear Anakin say “you wouldn’t make it as Obi-Wan’s padawan, but you might make it as mine”.

The main question now is what happens when she goes back. You remember all of those red and white sketches we’ve gotten from Filoni in the past year? My guess is they are happening now. Ahsoka has to find her way back to Ezra and the group while she’s stuck on Malacore. Here’s the real question: was she thrown back into her own time, or did she “catch up” to the rest of the team? Or does it matter? It may not. She may just have to find them and it is what it is. Or she may have to find the portal again and go through a gate into Ezra’s time. Either way, no lie, I’m just happy to see Snips again.
We only have 2 more episodes of Rebels. It’s been one heck of a ride. When The Clone Wars ended, we never got to say goodbye. We never got the satisfying ending we needed because the show was canceled. We didn’t know we were saying so long. The show just...stopped. Having a proper send off is important and I’m desperately hoping we finally get the ending the Ghost crew, and Ahsoka, deeply deserve.
